Mini-Stacks #4: Shots Fired and Woke Right
Lindsay's "Woke Right", Luigi in New York, and some 'cordtroon in Wisconsin. Also, thoughts on Yellowstone (it sucks) and 'The Social Network'
Ahhhh, ahhh! Back to something a little lighter. This is my fourth mini-stacks, where I talk about shit I don’t have enough material to write a full article on and is usually related to recent news.
Today we have four topics — Luigi Mangione (UH Assassin), Yellowstone, James Lindsay and claims of a “Woke Right”, and the Wisconsin Shooter. Sorry Assad! Syria getting taken over by Woke-Qaeda is already old news in this generation.
On Yellowstone (Boomer TV show) (SPOILERS)
I wrote a very long, well-done negative review of Yellowstone years ago, on iFunny, and I wish I still had it because it was back when I had just watched the show. It was still fresh in my mind back then, albeit I had only seen 2 or 3 seasons. I stopped watching whenever Kevin Costner almost died the first time. Aaand spoiler alert! He is now permanently dead, unless the show wants to do something brave and bring him back from the dead. Nah, it’s too gritty to do that unfortunately. But yeah, the latest and possibly last season just ended and I thought I’d recap on it.
Yellowstone is one of the most popular shows in Conservative America, even in Conservative-Adjacent America, and in all fairness it is surrounded by a sea of garbage so I’m not surprised that it succeeds. I can’t really name much about it that is actually memorable though, it’s all very one-note and boring. It also comes off as pretty unrealistic. Billionaire ranchers are not mafiosos going around getting in gang wars. The show throws conservatives a bone once in a while, I think they made fun of “woke vegan karens” a few times. But overall it is a hicklib show meant for non-lib hicks. The daughter is a cynical slut, and the noble son is married to an injun “decolonialist” quasi-Marxist professor who teaches anti-White history, and he has a mixed race son with her. Kevin Costner is sort of a bland milquetoast apolitical conservative-libertarian. The family is pretty dysfunctional. The show has become memed into oblivion for being faux-conservative… But I SAID IT FIRST!!! I said it first. Before all these were coming out. I am very smart!
Other than the main family, the rest of the show revolves around the “Cowboys” who maintain the ranch, and occasionally go kill people (sometimes they kill their own people who want “out” of the life). They come from a very diverse set of backgrounds. They hamfisted in a black guy who is so obviously not “country”, a pink haired redneck (lesbian?) girl, and probably a Mexican or two, and the rest are mostly lower class White guys. Kevin Costner remarries (wife’s dead) to some old girl which is really unrealistic, a rich attractive middle aged guy in montana would probably date some 25 year old girl. Lot of that in this show honestly. A lot of the cringey politics in the show come from the injun stuff, but it’s not all that bad. It’s just… Not all that good, and certainly not representative of the real conservatism you experience out there.
The main issue of the show, aside from the lameness of its political moments, is its redefining of “Cowboyism”. Grit and realism has become so ingrained into the Western genre that people don’t see an issue with this, but “Cowboy” in media doesn’t refer to actual Cowboys. This is how academics can get away with saying “X% Cowboys were Black and Mexican” or whatever. “Cowboy” really referred at the time to lower level employees on cattle ranches and participating in cattle drives, while today we tend to associate the Cowboys with the vigilantes, sheriffs, and generals of the Old West, and to a lesser extent with the laborers. Cowboys were probably not a quarter Black, but they were disproportionately Black for the time and even before the Anglo-Saxon got into the ranching industry it was typically a profession associated with Mestizos and Indios, while the White Criollos of Tejas were more often the owners of these large ranches.
But in the modern age, we are more interested in celebrating mediocrity and the worst elements of the lower class, rather than exceptionalism. So our heroes are a bunch of low-income workers who live in a tiny bunk. Yes, this is apparently “the life”, or perhaps that is what they want you to think. That is also the reason Kevin Costner has some used up woman as his late night booty call I guess. The latest season includes Kevin Costner dying (I assume he didn’t want to be on the show anymore, why else would they kill him off?) and ends with the roastie daughter (who is also infertile btw) killing the adopted son of Costner who is implied to have set up the hit on his father. This son was formerly the dad’s lawyer until they all had a falling out because his dad never really loved him and he found out he was adopted and his real dad was a total scumbag criminal who convinced him to turn against the family. It’s a very negative reputation of “well-put-together” White guys and a romanticization of tatted up workmen with little ambition in their lives. They sell all of their land which their family had owned and protected for generations to the Indians for an extremely cheap price just to stick it to wierdo adopted brother, which really makes mute the one sort of keyed element of the show — the idea that the Dutton family is entitled to the land their forefathers won, and should do anything to protect it. Albeit, they had their reasons in-universe to do this. But still, it’s ridiculous.
The show has a decent amount of product placement and has an insane amount of merchandise and deals with brands. You see a lot of commercials of the characters or actors advertising “REAL cowboy brands” and that sort of thing. It is obviously extremely successful and beloved by America even though it doesn’t hold a candle to some of the big shows of the 2000s. Costner is a big name in the Westerns industry but it’s worth remembering that his other big hit, Dances with Wolves, was actually extremely pozzed for that time. It’s a good movie, but it is extremely WOKE!!!
We all know there is only one real Dutton. And I’m pretty sure he isn’t some Yank cowboy…
The “Woke Right” Accusations: What is James Lindsay’s Endgame?
I’m kind of late to this, but recently the crowd of milquetoast conservatives who are very much focused on tracing the origins of the “left” down to some deep intellectual movement from centuries ago, that is not Marxism or Liberalism per se, has been making quite a ruckus about the “Woke Right”. This is horseshoe theory dressed up in a new veneer, as has been done a million times over. It comes from James Lindsay’s recent Social Experiment where he showed some rando right-wing “dissident” people some quotes from Karl Marx and they agreed with it not knowing the context. It is just standard Con Inc. entertainment and doesn’t really prove anything — Karl Marx has a lot of appealing-sounding quotes out of context and even some in context, but accepting Marxism requires accepting a whole worldview that is simply incompatible with the way almost everyone on the right views reality.
I am hearing now that the “Anti-Woke-Right” crowd is even calling right-wingers “Woke” for so much as questioning the honesty of this year’s Miss France competition, in which a Black women beat out two very hot White girls. It is now “woke” to perpetuate “““Eurocentric””” (really just what the whole world knows in their heart) beauty standards. What a joke!
James Lindsay has convinced a lot of conservative intellectuals — ironically enough, often these Paleocon Integralist “postliberals”, by blaming everything he disagrees with on two main currents throughout history — Hegelianism, and Gnosticism. I have addressed this thrice before, very early in my stackin’ days. I also kinda talked about in in my Evangelion review. Joachim of Fiore is another one that crowd likes to blame, although I don’t know if Lindsay himself has blamed him. I’m surprised he hasn’t, because the reason this is all so ironic is that Lindsay was a militant Atheist “free thinker” before he became a Conservative pundit.
I believe the goal of Lindsay is to legitimize atheist conservatism. This is completely different from the sort of atheism of Nietzsche. Lindsay is an atheist, but he is still religious. He believes in the metaphysical tenets of Liberalism despite not believing in metaphysics. And it’s kind of an open secret that most of these tenets come from Abrahamism, and most conservatives in power are JUDEO-Christians, so he can’t just go the obvious route and say Abrahamism is the root of these dual strains in political thought.. Even though it kind of is. Not all Abrahamism wants to “Immanentize the Eschaton” but enough strains of it do to have an influence (namely Jews, to a lesser extent certain Catholic orders and certain Protestant sects). Hegel himself was among this crowd. In Lindsay’s mind, Wokism is bad because it is Hegelian Gnosticism, which is bad because Nazis and Communists were Hegelian Gnostics and it is because they were Hegelian Gnostics that they killed x million people. There is only one ideology that is not Hegelian Gnosticism, and that is Secular Paleoliberalism. Racism is Hegelian Gnosticism. Religious zealousness (of any form) is Hegelian Gnosticism. This is because both are Fascism (???) which is Hegelian Gnosticism. Which is Communism. When clear evidence is given to the contrary, they will insist that [disliked ideology] is “spiritual Gnosticism” or “spiritual Hegelianism”. I’ve seen some of them say that Buddhism is “spiritual Gnosticism” and they also seem to mistake secret societies like Rosicrucians and Freemasons with Gnostics even though they’re probably closer to the Hegelian side if anything.

On the flipside there are some actual Nazi Gnostics out there, usually Serrano fans. Serrano, I think, eventually denounced Gnosticism, and the Gnosticism within Nazi Germany was basically only appreciated as a propaganda tool. Never do Hitler and Rosenberg actually celebrate the metaphysical beliefs of Gnosticism at all in their writings. They just say “it was kind of keyed for Marcion to try and convince people Jesus was Aryan”.
Luigi Mangione
I didn’t really want to make a post on this, but I can do a Mini-Stack on Mangione… The whole situation is super strange and it’s one of those times where I can unfortunately understand why everyone’s getting sensationalist about it.
Mangione grew up pretty wealthy. He has family in government. He went to an ivy league, got a masters there, and attended a private school throughout his childhood where he exited as valedictorian. He was a regular guy to most people, but behind the scenes he was a bit of a bookworm… And was also active on the e-right. It’s all somewhat ironic — the UHC CEO Brian Thompson grew up working-class and really did seem to “pull himself up by his bootstraps” while Mangione had everything handed to him on a silver platter (not to hate on him too much — he was probably a gifted individual if he was Valedictorian and able to get into Penn. His goodreads reviews also seem well-spoken). His family didn’t even use United Healthcare.
The strangest things about him are his Twitter and his Goodreads. It doesn’t line up at all with his manifesto — a sub-300 word, sloppy, and largely non-factual rambling on the healthcare industry. Most of his read books were very much normie, tech-bro, self-help/success guides. You can find his goodreads archived here, although I’m not sure how much pages you can access. He apparently had a high opinion of Kaczynski’s manifesto Industrial Society and its Future, a favorite of 15 year olds across the web. Me personally, I’ve grown out of that. Kaczynski has some decent criticisms of life in the 20th century, but these criticisms are addressed better by Fascists and perhaps even Communists. Kaczynski was a maladjusted individual. He was a super-sperg, he didn’t really care about nature or animals like people might imagine, and he was an autogynephiliac. I don’t believe the copium that he was MKUltra’d into wanting to troon out for a quick nut. He was also schizophrenic, probably. He killed innocent people for basically no reason — he could have gotten his message further when he was an academic at Harvard, but he decided to go live in the woods and torture people’s dogs and never shower. If Heidegger wasn’t a nightmare to read, I would recommend putting down that manifesto and picking up some of his old post-war interviews instead. It’s kind of a cliche at this point, but it’s also worth pointing out for anyone who hasn’t heard this meme that Kaczynski would probably hate all of his internet fans. What’s ironic is that half of them are Tradcaths. Ridiculous.
Do you know who didn’t torture his neighbor’s dogs? Hitler! In fact, he loved “animool”. Maybe you should read Mein Kampf instead — oh wait, it seems like some people are saying Luigi Mangione had MK on his to-read list… Hmm, interesting! Well, I don’t see it on the front page, and I don’t know how to access more pages of his to-reads from the archived page (if possible). But it does appear that he wanted to read Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged, some books on metaphysics, and Paul Skallas’s Life and the Lindy Effect. Speaking of Paul Skallas, Luigi followed him on Xitter. He also followed race-realist accounts like i/o, albeit he seemed to follow a lot of the annoying and fencesitting normie-pandering ones who would hate what he did… Like i/o… He was also in e/acc and Thiel-Musk type circles, and seemed pretty pro-tech, not really an AI alarmist as far as I know. He rexeeted some anti-SJW stuff, and once in a while posted right-wing leaning content like promoting higher birth rates and vaguely promoting eugenics. All of that considered, why would he like Kaczynski? And why would he shoot that CEO? The sort of guys he was following on Twitter are all very against what he did, and the man he was back in spring doesn’t seem anything like the man who wrote that manifesto.
He also had some funnies.
Joseph Bronski and Scott Greer recently implied that his spiral into Psychedelics use had something to do with it. He seems to have gotten into them in the past year, you can see it on his goodreads and his linktree. His family says that he went off-radar over the past few months and were worried about him. I’m not saying everyone goes crazy from taking Psychedelics, but think about it. He was coming off a failed surgery for his fucked up back (back surgeries kind of suck at helping) and his mom had had trouble with insurance before for medical issues as well. He couldn’t lift anymore, he couldn’t have sex anymore, he got laid off from his job… Really one bad trip away from going into a death spiral, I think. Psychedelics are poison! Don’t take them. If you take Psychedelics you will be greeted with this screen for 8000 years after you die, for trying to cheat your way out of Samsara and into enlightenment:

It’s also possible that Mangione did it to be famous. He will be a cultural icon for a while now, albeit by people he probably doesn’t like. He will get a lot of mail in jail and probably get a pretty hot prison girlfriend, assuming he doesn’t become traumatized by prison rape. Some people are saying he has a gay phenotype, I don’t believe this to be the case. Italian men look like this. Gracile Med Phenotype. The girls who will come give him conjugal visits in jail might be significantly hotter than his mid Asian girlfriend.
Anyways… The Luigi Mangione worship is mostly an internet meme. Only a small minority of people actually view him positively. Even people who have been denied healthcare claims view him mostly negatively. Uhh, there is a source for this, I don’t have it. I lost it. If any of you have it tell me, but honestly, I don’t even care. This is a mini-stack. It ain’t that serious. That small minority contains a lot of hot young shitlib girls in denial about Mangione’s intentions and politics, though. There honestly might be copycat killers from that alone — but it’ll only work if they have a face card and physique like Mangione. Well, prime Mangione. From the looks of it his health issues and being on the move have cost him muscle mass.
Please do not say anything in my comments that is Italophobic. I know he kind of looks like a Mulatto. But he is just tan and has that hair style. STOP SAYING SICILIANS ARE BLACK!!! It’s not true…
“Femcel” School Shooter
She is not a femcel! She was an e-girl with a boyfriend. She is literally the “Femcel who has a boyfriend” stereotype! Femcels effectively do not exist — well, there are female involuntary celibates, but the fast majority of women who self-ID as “femcels” are not involuntarily celibate and most are not even celibate. The same cannot be said about male “incels”. Many such cases!
Also, I read her manifesto — it’s terrible! I got quite angry when someone compared her to Elliot Rodgers. I don’t endorse what Rodgers did, in fact he was something of a nutcase himself, but at least he was somewhat well-spoken and well-written. This girl’s manifesto is completely meaningless drivel. Way worse than Mangione’s. Mangione’s manifesto was just lazy — hers indicates that she was a low-IQ neurotic sociopath. And possibly ESL.
Why are women committing school shootings now? Women seem to be becoming like men in many ways. Very bad stuff.
Review of 'The Social Network'
Watched The Social Network. Pretty great movie. First of all, let’s get the nitty gritty out of the way. Mark and Eduardo were Jewish, and the movie clarifies this early. No “Porkwashing” in this movie (something Jewish and gentile directors alike sometimes do). The Winklevoss twins are portrayed as extremely Aryan, which I thought was Porkwashing because their name sounded Jewish, they went to Harvard in the naughties, and their dad was a lawyer. But it turns out the name isn’t Jewish and neither are they. It also does a good job giving us a picture of ‘naughties college life. Seems like a better time, where it was easier to make friends and get laid. Also, there were a lot of business oppurtunities for a young smart guy in the up and coming tech industry. Also, the female actors in this movie are much more attractive than in every movie in 2024. The Lindsayites would be upset at the lack of diverse women in this movie! The mostly male main characters are also brilliantly cast in this movie, especially Eisenberg as Marky Mark.
Zuckerberg comes off as a very interesting character, I’m not sure if he’s this fun in real life but I assume the blogpost is real as well as the looks rating story. Zuckerberg comes off as having an incredible almost instinctual knowledge for social relationships despite himself being socially retarded (this, along with his short stature, is likely why he had to settle for a mid Asian).
Honestly, it seems like someone who scored perfectly on the SAT is wasting his potential with facebook. Steve Jobs and Bill Gates did more impressive things in compsci. With a 1600 SAT, Zucc could have probably been a great physicist. Compsci might have been harder in 2004? I don’t know. Less resources, but his idea was just a better version of the Winklevosses and the programming doesn’t seem that difficult. I’ve never had a strong opinion on intellectual property because my intuition is in favor of it while smart people around me are against it. Maybe if they made their own memes and soyjaks instead of recycling my OCs, they would get it… Harrumph!
I think the movie does a decent job showing the spirit of the early tech industry. A lot of autistic douchebag misogynists who valued libertarian causes like free speech and entrepreneurship. In the mid-2010s the tech industry became very hipster and libtarded — partially due to “useless workers” comprising more of companies, partially due to the DNC playing buddy-buddy with big tech, partially due to DEI, and partially due to Indians and East Asians expanding their role in it (not just through their own merit, also through ethnic nepotism especially among Indians). Now that the DNC has fucked over Big Tech, I think these guys really have no incentive to be “Woke”. Problem is, the brakes are broken. Big Tech wokeness is not in the hands of the magnates anymore. Thielbux be damned! It doesn’t matter. Even if the entire internet had Musk-like CEOs it’s still never gonna be the same. Everything was so different in the 2000s. They still played rock music at parties, instead of mind-numbing heavy-bass rap. Hot girls were still in movies. And corporate decisions which impacted culture were determined by human creativity and ingenuity, not algorithms. Using social media now feels like being one of those fat people in Up. There’s no freedom, there’s no customizability, there’s just culture that is curated to you which either intentionally or unintentionally skews you more towards what is “normal” and what is predictable. Luigi knows what I’m talking about, because he was a LindyMan fan. Stuck culture yadda yadda. I liked iFunny was because it was so unpolished, albeit probably due to the incompetence of the devs. But it made it better. I would say the best-designed social media site was Tumblr, Even though its userbase made it unusable. Social media was better for everyone who cared when it was unpolished, but it required effort. I’m not going to deny that some amenities have made SM better, but overall I think it has become worse. The issue with the industry is that sites don’t really fill niches, because even if you personally like the layout of a site the deciding factor is gonna be whether or not your friends are on it, and because the most people will like the “easiest” sites (even if your freedom is very limited on them) users will always deposit onto those sites. If I was in Marky Mark’s shoes, I would have not let this happen! I can assure you.
Not much else to say. I was hoping it would go on longer, because I was really enjoying it. Well-shot. Really liked the layout of switching between legal cases and the events leading up to them, with the case discourse getting more vitriolic as the events leading up to them got more shaky. Would have been cool to live at that time but then I would be an old man today (40). And the world just got worse (more or less) in that 20-year gap and furthermore it doesn’t look like by the time 40 year olds today are on death’s doorstep they’re gonna have good tech to stop that cold harsh reality. I don’t think anything really good will come even when I’m on death’s doorstep. Humanity is getting dumber (both in general due to global demographic trends and within each nationality) and our problems are getting harder to solve. There will probably still be enough innovation to sustain the global capitalist economy, but I don’t think we’re gonna reach “economic growth escape velocity” any more than we’ll reach “aging escape velocity” and all take pills to regress into 16 year olds. It will require radical changes in our society if we want to make the most of the future.
i remember reading elliot’s autobiography , i still think the funniest thing he’s ever said was when he got worried that the average size was 5.5 inches and not 4 inches
No reason at all to watch any modern zogflix shows. Plenty of good stuff in the oughts and early ‘10s and all before then to keep your brain busy after work.
I wish ifunny had gotten into the tv show “The Shield”. That show is so unbelievably funny and awesome…
A perfect world would’ve had Kaner and Colaws make Vic Mackey and Dutch Wagenbach videos instead of their retarded wiggerslop videos where Mordecai and Rigby take fent or Walter White drinks wocky slush or soemthing stupid like that
