I made it through all 4 years of undergrad (and in fact my entire life prior to, and since then) without watching more than a few minutes of anime. This is in spite of the fact that most of my roommates had some interest in anime.
Often, I was invited to watch anime with them, but I would politely decline every time. And yet, when it was time for YouTube slop, I was on the couch right beside them.
Instead, I immersed myself in examples of the Apollonian Ubermensch, such as The Dukes of Hazard and The Andy Griffith Show.
I believe that the concentrated vril stored within just the pinky finger of either of the Duke boys would be so completely overwhelming to the Asiatc soul as to completely annihilate it.
I’m new to Anime, so I’ve only seen one series, Frieren: Beyond Journeys End. And it was really good, but my biggest experience with anime lies with Studio Ghibli and adjacent films. They are for the most part fantastic and even the lesser ones are decent to good. 👍
wrt the effect anime has on people, I'm inclined to think weird and unenergetic people are drawn to anime but that anime itself doesn't actually change people that much. I do see how it causes some specific things (e.g. autogynephilia, cringy behaviour) but I don't think those effects get to people who aren't already messed up.
If you had the choice to goon to either a typical anime girl, or hell even a futa, yet still would gravitate towards the femboy aesthetic, I feel such is more indicative of one’s sexuality than pulling the Freudian cope and denying it.
I only watch sci-fi anime from the 80s and 90s about normal earth guys being kidnapped by sexy virgin space princesses who end up falling in love and having wholesome and beautiful relationships. It’s a surprisingly large sub genre that was unfortunately snubbed out by degenerate gooner harem anime and such in the early 00s
this is very specific lmao, are you by any chance referring to the really famous one (that also had a reboot recently) i think it was called shut up yatsura. Ive heard it was quite influential
i got into anime when i was around 10 because of the aot trump meme, never talked to anyone irl about it ever, i’m one of the last of the dying breed that is the closet weeb
i once told you to watch something called lovely complex. you did not seems impressed. but i think i found out why i like it. it is because it's written by a woman. not joking here. some of my favourite books and shows are written by woman. i guess the contours of the female mind disposed onto page tickles my fancy somehow. come to think of it, i should watch the notebook to test this theory.
the only two experience i have with anime is my brother showing me MHA (trash but i guess the fight scenes and all might are cool but it gets overly drawn out) and me watching dragon ball, which has been quite good

All media should just be hype and aura moments
I agree.
Weeaboo cringe is not as bad as DnD tumblr theater kid cringe. Not by a long shot.
True, at least they don't take themselves seriously.
the only animes i've watched are toy story, avatar, the boondocks, teh petrixxx show, shrek, the nutshack, smosh & two episodes of king of the hill
watch Johnny Bravo
It is my favorite anime
i forgot to mention but i watch ren and stimpy. good soundtrack
if a cartoon was made by a group of schizos

Frieren is a good show
gankutsuo is really good and unique, its an older anime adaptation of the count of monte cristo.
Very true. I recommend KonoSuba if you want good humor.
Thanks. 👍
“y’all got any good writing?”
“we got hype moments and aura” ahhh
Hype moments and aura > good writing

I agree, though I’ve lately been bored with anime. It’s all so tiresome after a while.
Definitely better than anything made within the last decade or two on American Television with the exception of “Smiling Friends”.
Thank god you stopped with these boob brakes. Reading your posts in public was rather anxiety inducing.
They just don't really fit in a substack post the way they fit in an ifunny comic

It’s definitely partially innate. Normal people don’t really become interested in femboys, but some people could end up either way

If you enjoy that kind of stuff then you should check out Isaac Asimov's "The Stars like Dust".

You were 10 when there were Trump memes? How young are you?
I was 12 when there were Trump memes, so he could be 19 or 20 and still be 10 when the first Trump memes came out (june 2015)
I’m 26, plz stop making me feel old lol
how was the king philips war unc 💔
So basically consume Seinen (anime/manga but for adults) media? Reasonable.

the only thing ive ever heard from it is that its in kansai ben

it’s pretty funny how everyone i know of including myself somewhat dislike mha but like all might
Same
Most bad but popular anime tends to have an amazingly written Abridged version somewhere on YouTube. MHA has two.
