I have this working theory that most transgenders, at least the ones I interact with, are just men willing to be gay for attention. I, like you big S, am a gamer. If you make a quick observation you can see that the groups with the most troons are the ones that are predominantly male hobbies. Its pretty logical to think that people want to find a significant other with whom they share common interest and alot of gamers find this particularly frustrating. Female gamers are extremely rare and most of the time not very suitable mates, either physically being unattractive or just being attention whores. this sexually frustrate the soon to be troon but that is not the biggest impact it has on them. The soon to be troon realizes to themselves that if they themselves were a female in this niche, male environment they could receive an insane amount of attention and sort of "importance" or "rarity". This is the point in which they begin to morph into the actual troon, they believe they can become this highly desired thing that they themselves want. When people talk about the "vidya to troon pipeline", the "anime to troon pipeline" or the "comp sci major to troon pipeline" i think to myself "well yea obviously" because those are all male dominant fields. (as a side note here anime encourages troonism through other means than just being male dominant)
Hmm, a very astute observation. It also not be a cognizant decision but a more subconscious value judgement of women in gaming communities. Because women are so high status they decide they want to be women, but they don't explicitly think that other men will give them attention for it as they would a biological female. Well, maybe they do. They might be that crazy.
This makes a lot of sense, especially if you have ever seen that “if you can’t get a girlfriend, become the girlfriend” meme, which I call a meme lightly. It is not a meme, but a fetish. I think there is also a more malicious aspect of troonism. Some of them, think that bug Reiko fiasco on discord or posts about adults mailing HRT to children, clearly gain some sort of satisfaction from creating more troons/corrupting children and other vulnerable people.
As useless as modern mainstream conservative talk-heads are, they usually do an OK job arguing against transgenderism (granted pretty low hanging fruit) but I remember Matt Walsh’s “what is a woman” argument sticking with me cause it does legit blue screen some people
